Doesn't qualify as a ride in the absolute sense, but a trip to the station for a train ticket yielded a return leg of such effortlessness that I felt pointing the bike in a vague direction was the sum total of my effort.
That's what I love about riding a bike - the chance of it. A meticulously planned epic for guaranteed reward can easily leave you without, yet this ride for pure utility purposes ended memorably. It all just fell haphazardly into place - enjoyable riding is wherever you happen to find it, even under the most mundane of circumstances.
