The idea has been around for years in various incarnations. My aim is to encourage drivers to appreciate how good it is for them that other people don't drive.
I suppose philosophically I'm with Kant here. Driving to work where there are alternatives doesn't pass the universalizability test. So it's in drivers interest that others do not drive to work every day.
This idea works on that concept and should lead drivers to the conclusion that "if I wish to drive then I ought to ensure as many other people as possible are on bikes buses tubes and on foot. So I'd better be nice to them while I drive"
Now I'm as yet unsure exactly how that message is going to get out...
