  • Went home to see my parents yesterday - 96 miles starting from Iver, going over the Chilterns (using the first 30 miles of KT Bee's Clifton Hampden route which goes up Holloway Lane) then heading north to pass through Thame, before skirting Bicester and Banbury and arriving at their place just south of Leamington.

Between Thame and Bicester I climbed up to a village called Brill, which has spectacular views and an awesome windmill, would recommend.

The church there does cream teas between 3 and 5.30pm, cruelly I arrived at 2.20pm and didn't fancy hanging around that long.

Also in avoiding the Burton Dassett hills (I decided the route was 'undulating' enough already) I discovered a rather nice gated road between Farnborough and Fenny Compton - not sure what BF means - bicycle friendly?

A great day in the saddle marred only by too much B4100. I'm not a fan.
