Response to Buffalo Bill, 22 August 2012 12:46PM
Bill is right, bike polo is very inclusive. For example, Bill himself is stricken with gout and arthritis, scarcely able to walk on a bad day, and yet he is accepted. Even though he often has no idea where he is or who he is and is given to sudden and alarming outbursts of rage the polo community has welcomed him, if not with open arms, then at least with nervous smiles. When his frequent episodes of incontinence render Bill less than fragrant it is his polo friends who rummage through their wardrobes to find a pair of trousers or a long flowing skirt that he can wear. That is typical of the generosity and kindness that distinguishes bike polo from other so-called 'sports'. *
Quoted for posterity.
