The Mavic tubs are likely to be 20mm box shaped, quite pretty in their time and solid at circa 405g
The only restricting factor 'may' be the rear derailleur depending on what the biggest sprocket you require, 'most' racing/short cage rear derailleurs can handle 28T
As for the hubs if Shimano they'll probably have a designation code plus 2 letter year manufacture code.
Velobase is the place for all things retro and exact ID of stuff like that :o)
If you don't manage to get a swap there are ebay sellers who still do (New) screw on hub wheelsets for under £55 posted, easy enough to find but make sure you ask the OLN dimension as some don't state it.
