  • (now playing devils advocate....in a very nice suit of course) By your own admission not breaking the speed limit. Also, sort of, riding within accepted guidelines given by the IAM (not filtering at more than 20mph than the other traffic).

    Would your opinion have been altered if it had been a cyclist riding at 25mph in a similar circumstance?

    His overtaking of me at the speed he did, in the space he did, was a dangerous manoeuvre first off. There was no leeway at all. If a cyclist had done the same, yeah, I would have blamed the cyclist for riding too fast for the conditions because at that speed there was no way a two-wheeled vehicle could have stopped in time to avoid a vehicle changing lanes like this.

    I'm not making a judgement on the legality of what he did (without knowing for sure what speed he was doing) but it was, plainly, stupid.
