  • Yep packing light, but still have over 5kg of food! It's a case of carry it or pay through the nose at a refuge for a small portion. Plus the gf is a vegetarian which the French and Spanish don't really understand.
Light sandals are already on the kit list. Definately good to have something to let your feet air themselves out a little at the end of the day.

My menu for 9 days of walking (per person). Should provide over 3000 calories per day*:

Breakfast - Chocolate and Raisin Porridge avec Eau d'Montagne

    • 150g oats
    • 25g chocolate
    • 25g raisins

    Mid-morning snack:
1 slice Flapjack (home made and rammed with calories)

Lunch - Peanut and Raisin Cous Cous avec Sauce du Jour

    • 100g cous cous
    • 22g powdered sauce
    • 25g peanuts
    • 25g raisins

    Mid-afternoon snack:
    100g GORP*

Dinner - Peanut Rice avec (another) Sauce du Jour:
    150g rice
    25g peanuts
    22g powdered sauce

    Please excuse my poor French!

*Not really enough to replace the energy used during a long day in the mountains but it's a comprimise between weight carried and calorie intake.

**Good Old Raisins and Peanuts. Mix of salted peanuts, salted cashews, minstrels, honey roast peanuts, honey roast cashews, dried pineapple and dried pear. But no raisins.
