Help me pimp my brakes - brake upgrade (calipers / pads)

I'm looking for new brakes as mine are clapped out and a bit scary in the rain.

So, are there any opinions on SRAM Apex brakes? They are £20 each on Planet x and come with swissstop pads. http://www.planet-x-bikes.co.uk/i/q/BCSRAPEX/sram_apex_brake_caliper

And also, would they fit my frame, which is an alu langster one (which I presume is normal and not long reach or anything..)

I have an apex on the front of my dolan, doesn't feel as powerful as shimano brakes (105 and ultegra) that I have had on previous bikes, but that may be due to lever setup. Nice build quality, swisstops are a good touch but wear out quickly in the rain (as this mornings ride proved)
