Is it possible to mount a downtube shifter on the stem?
I am building a bike for my girlfriend. 7speed rear only. I bought a gripshift as she wouldn't be comfortable shifting on the downtube but it's taking up to much room on the handlebar and interferring with braking.
So I either buy a thumbshifter or trigger shifter.
Is there a bracket that will allow me to use the downtube shifter on the stem or would I have to buy a stem specific shifter?
