Funny you should say that - I just did a lap over Box Hill via Epsom downs yesterday. The view really is pretty damn good but I was slightly awestruck by the view going up zig-zag lane! Spectacular in the sun!
The only problem with taking the route over Epsom Downs is the relentless shallow climb up to the racecourse. Saying that it's probably not too bad if there's no wind unlike yesterday
