Contact with the ball and the sweet spot needs to be maximised not reduced (Exhibit C & B reduces, Exhibit A is the thumbs up! )

I really do think messing with the exterior shape (cylinder) isnt progressing the head design.

Weight selection of head, hardness of head, length of shaft, grades of flex for shaft are the manufacturable variants and then a ton of different grip types.
