• I think what falconvitesse is describing is a cut and shut job on the BB shell. If your BB threads are fucked you can cut a thin strip out of the BB shell (laterally), squeeze the cut ends together and re-weld, giving a slightly smaller inner diameter which you can cut new threads into.

    Which shop did that for you? I'd have thought it's really a framebuilder's job rather than one for your LBS. Roberts have done one for me in the past, which worked well. Maybe take it in there and see if they can re-do the cut and shut. Or fill the threads with brass and re-tap.
