    give motorcyclists, cyclists and horse riders at least as much room as you would when overtaking a car (see Rules 211-215)

    The trouble with this rule is that it is meaningless. If you would only give half an inch of room to a car then this rule permits you to give only half an inch to a cyclist.

    In France the law is clearer and drivers give cyclists the whole lane.
