    Also designed to be difficult to understand what the money is for as you would not want the plebs to actually start expecting something from you.

    yeah 3 miles is a total guess,
    money to Sustrans is due to proven track record in building new/opening routes that people want, exclusive of infrastructure within towns.see website for info on Connect 2 etc over last 5 years.

    not sure what/ who the 'cycle rail working group' is sorry would have to dig for that info.

    it does need mentioning as an aside that the 560million that government is giving to projects Local Sustainable Transport Fund L.S.T.F
    which is being bid for as we speak contains a significant amount of cycling/ active travel promotion roles within respective Councils nationally.
    who ever would have thought transport would have gotten so lively
