As long as it has horizontal dropouts (and both brakes!!) you should be fine for a single speed setup, although the chainline could be a fair way out. It's up to you whether you buy the relevant tools or just take it to a shop for the conversion - they probably cost the same, but one obviously provides you with assets / no guarantee of success.
