I'm looking to create a map filled with images (placed in the appropriate places on the map) and integrate it into a website for a project at uni.
I could do this with Google maps but IMO they look like ass, the map in Flickr is much more aesthetically pleasing but it seems like integrating it into another website is a bit of a shitstorm.
Flickr FAQs say you can't do it through Flickr but if you are familiar with APIs then to look at Yahoo Maps Web Services (http://developer.yahoo.com/maps/) which it seems actually shut down in September and that link then points you to OVI maps API (http://api.maps.ovi.com/) but I can see no mention of Flickr in there and it all gets way over my head pretty quickly too.

Anyone experienced with this kind of thing?
