  • Saturday: Just a short loop through the New Forest with the gf. The ponies were out in abundance and they couldn't give a shit that they're blocking the road. Odd how people are so patient for an animal, but another human travelling slightly slower than they are and The Rage takes over.
We saw a tree that's reckoned to be about 600 years old, the outside of the motor museum, some swans, and plenty of clear blue sky.

Sunday: Cycled from the New Forest back home to Reading. Stopped at a pub for a pint, a bowl of soup, and a packet of crisps. Navigation was made harder when, with about 15 miles to go, we entered The Fog. Visibility dropped along with the temperature, and it got dark fast. Still, an enjoyable ride, nothing too taxing, just cruising along at a nice easy pace.

The only problems we had were down to the gf's Rohloff hub (which we'd only got set up properly on Saturday evening) which still needs some fine tuning, so she was changing down to climb hills only to find the hub had other ideas and would change up. Fortunately the engineers at Rohloff have thought of everything and there's a section in the manual for this issue, and it's as simple as turning a screw to resolve.
