I'm having another clear out, and have found a really nice compact mechanics stand (in pale green) which I'm not using. It's very lightweight (say a couple of kilos) and folds down very small - will easily fit under a bed, or in the back of your car. It has a tray to hold small tools & bits.
The way it works is that you take the front wheel off & it holds the bike by the forks and cradles it under the bottom bracket - raising the bike up to the right height to work on.
It's pretty stable, and much better than leaning your bike against the sofa/wall when you want to work on it.
£15 - sorry no pictures (too lazy to ebay it) - collection is North Ealing.
