Recently had the exact same thing happen to me. Was out riding, heard a loud noise and 2 of the chainring bolts had popped and flew off the bike. This had the effect of complexly bending the chainring and when I came to a halt on of the arms of the crank spider (opposite side to the crank arm) was bent inwards fairly considerably. Im not sure if this was already bent and contributed to the cranks failing or not? Mines also a 2010 se lager
