Nice x-ray. As long as the stitches are neat it doesn't really matter what's inside.
They don't like to operate on the extremities due to increased risk of infection, you don't get a great flow of freshly oxygenated blood in your feet. I was told they would only remove my metalwork if it was causing a problem.
