Harry,
I have a Old Man Mountain "Sherpa" (here on the carridice site) I only have the rear, but would look at the front for a tour, and been thinking about selling it for a front as I have one of Scott's huge Saddlebags, which i like and will perfectly compliment a nice front rack....I digress.. The sherpa is very light, disc brake compatible and goes through the wheel axle with a quick release clamp, so is strong as an ox. Not the cheapest option, but the convenience of being able to swap on to any bike, makes it more appealing...well, did for me.
If a rear rack is of any use, let me know, maybe we can work something out if you were interested to buy/borrow it.
