Turkey does have some human rights issues even today.. really surprised no one mentioned the Kurdish People and PKK. The Kurds have no homeland and are persecuted in several countries.
On a whole though, i think we are friendly, welcoming and considerate people. And we are always there for you at the end of the day.. whether in a cab, 24hr shop or kebab house :)
