• Yesterday was a Swinley jaunt with Tom. from here. Massive amounts of offroad fun, mud, berms and we are starting to connect the interesting trails together. As such we probably only did a fraction of our riding on fire roads, much more single track. No stupid falls from me and Tom was on great form on the descents.

Garmin did decide to eject itself, luckily Tom found it so here is a record of our day out.

Today I went out with Hounslow and District Wheelers, a lovely bunch of cyclists. Thankfully they had their annual club dinner last night so were not doing a full training ride (70miles non stop). Instead it was a club run, so included a cafe stop. Good pace set by Nick, a very who has been a member of a couple of sponsored time trial teams. Hats off to Rob, who was always at the front of the pack for every climb, did some lead out. Bit of a whippersnapper, so rode fixed, and possibly his gearing in his mid sixties was not far off his real age too! Seriously impressive, especially as he chatted continually whether going up hills or spinning down at ridiculous pace.

Am now defrosting, fingers slowly coming back to life as I type. Weather was mildly unpleasant, cold winds and continual light rain. Must fit mudguards for future jaunts.

So from now on the game plan is MTB Saturdays, road Sundays.

I have the glorious sensation of numbth right now (numb warmth) and feeling satisfactorily tired.
