size 8 needles..
cast on 46 stitches main colour..
rib 4 rows, (p1, k1)....
add contrast colours 6 rows (p1, k1)..
continue to rib 4 rows main colour (p1, k1)
change to size 7 needles
7 rows plain knitting main colour
14 rows of moss stitch (k1, p1) criss / cross
every 4th row, (k1, p1 4 times, k2tog)
13 rows plain knitting
every 4th row, (k1, p1 4 times, k2tog)
cut yarn 12 inches remaining stitches gather up using thick needle,
sew inside out seam down to rib stitching..
you should be able to do this in two days, easy even i (a bloke can do it)..
makes for a very personal piece of headgear.. pics soon
