OH YEAH!
Kirth its my b'day weekend too - extra long this weekend cause of the royal wedding (I've already RVCPd to this and told them I've got a ride to go on so can't attend - plus I didn't want the hassle of finding a hat).
We got wasted in London on the Fri night last year, then got a train down/ferry across sat arvo. Pitched a tent at Kite Hill and listened to the rain.
The weather on the day was grim - worst in histroy. Cold, wet, windy.
BUT I'd do it all over again (it can only be easier right?).
The feeling of reward having finished the ride made it so worth it (as did the all you can eat carvery at the pub near the camp site).
Anyone interested in camping is more than welcome to join our tent city. Shirley/Beryl was very accomodating and a lovely hostess).
Also Kirth - the 100k isn't that far...... you can stop and have as many cups of tea and ham and salad rolls on route as you wish. Do it. Highly recommended *****
