  • Enigma make a handful of frames themselves, but most are made in China.

I don't understand the snobbery towards Chinese made titanium, like many areas, the Chinese have become quite expert in fabricating titanium frames.

my snobbery comes from a fair number of xacd frames that have had weld failures or have turned up wrong. granted most of these things have happened when people have tried to save and done the ordering direct. if it's done through a dealer or brand then you have more of a comeback.

i still wouldn't buy a plain gauge cheap ti frame but spend the little bit extra on u.k made oversise steel/stainless or good value carbon. or spend decent money on a butted and custom fitted ti frame (including custom tubeset to you weight/riding style)
but that's just me. other people are seduced by the allure of ti.
though i have to ask if it's so good why do people sell them second hand and if it's a bike for life why do they fatigue and fail just like any other material. :-)
