There are loads of people re investigating the AI series style British response to Detroit.
If you are I was listening to the Pub podcast for Electric Deluxe (speedy j's label) today. Very reminiscent of that era.

I find some of the Detroit inspired dubstep seems to be very similar to the bass drive Black Dog material, but slighty more refined. Bytes actually came up on the Ask Any Question thread just last week.
