It was 365 days and 4 hours ago that Paul died peacefully at Chelsea and Westminster.
The good will and camaraderie last night was a perfect tribute to a man who made each of us feel special, respected and cared for when ever we were around him. Even when suffering a great deal in hospital he continually made every effort to ease the pain for the people around him. Despite his claims to have led a selfish existence, time he spent as part of our community evidenced a very different kind of character.
Paul, I miss you loads - the late night conversations, the tales of London in the sixties, the passion for bikes and bling, the relaxed weekends, rides and bonhomie. Your grace in the last month was fantastic and will continually remind me of how we can conduct ourselves despite the situations we find ourselves in.
