Rapha, nice but a bit pricey?

I will step down from this one rather than engage in petty squabbling.

Prancer, being Xmas day and all - actually, Merry Xmas Prancer - it is really not the moment for this, but to hell with it,
Christmas is nothing but a Capitalist holiday anyway, right!?...

You kinda remind me of this guy that used to be here, sometimes a lovely chap, but mostly a bit of persistent twat,
with the cleverness of a 5y old on shrooms.
He used to go by the name of Dancing James, and believe it or not, he had the same avatar as you... maybe coindence... ;)

Now, that guy - DJ - made it to the point of losing any respect around 'here', it sort of seemed like he had lost even his self respect,
which is a shame, I bet he could have been a really nice guy. Instead he couldn't let it go without engaging in pathetic little arguments,
constantly. Part of his routine were the constant personal remarks and offensive comments, a bit like the ones above..
Not that I'm implying that you're the same type, or that I feel offended by any of this.. far from it.
He, as well, couldn't resist fighting back any 'attacks' to his beloved Rapha, almost every time in an idiotic fashion, but to each its own.
I like my stuff too and couldn't care less about what you, or anyone else would think about it.
I would never offend anyone over something like that though, but again, to each its own.

Why do I bother about this, now specially? beats me.. Family is all sleeping, I'm not even pissed, just came to check the Forum Xmas..
and somehow the stuff I read above touch me.... nicely :) (thanks Andy, Jaw, Max...and everyone, nice to feel the appreciation.)

The few reasons i frequent LFGSS, aside form the obvious comradeship, is Porn, Food, and Meme threads, everything else has become
the biggest Meh of all times. Still is fun.
This particular thread is my favorite (and possibly only), troll thread. Not because I like trolling, or think I do it, but because like you
say above, we're all entitled to an opinion. And here an opinion is very close to trolling. 99% of times.

My opinion about Rapha is very clear = expensive/overated/meh cycling gear.
I see it no different from any other hi end clothing company, coming from a very particular niche of market. You have them everywhere -
Surf(Osklen), skate(Supreme), cycling(Rapha), lifestyle (All the previous whateva more...), etc, etc, etc...
It's a proved to work formula. It's what Hiroshi Fujiwara as done to everything he touched, a turd would sell after him saying it's cool.
I do recognize the merits of the brand, I do think Rapha is really well made, but I also think that is a concept created on the same
bases of brands like BBC, Supreme, Porter...etc.

Does it bring cycling to everyone? No.
Does it provide better ways of communicating cycling to the masses? Well, it promotes cycling, to people that can pay £50 for a cap.
Does it make you faster? Possibly you'll say yes, being warmer, right materials, blah, blah, blah... I say MTFU.

You don't agree with this?
Fine, we don't have to agree with each other, we can have different views on the subject.
But there should be mutual respect, even if it's faked, other wise what's the point?

Unless you work for Rapha, or they sponsor you.
