I've got two of these little Dahon' folders and for tootling about, and folding up they're great- although the alu version is a better weight for carrying around. They're well made, and well thought out
The really neat bit is the pump is located in the seat post as an all in one using the post as the cylinder for the pump - the only time you see it when the end of the pump pokes out of the bottom bracket when the seat post is lowered.
The gear range is good, the gear change is slick.
The only note of hesitation from me is I live on a steep hill, and doing the downward swoop does demand some caution, as a speed wheel wobble happens in the steering (ok, there is an incredible bulk on the bike!) , so its a question of gently braking to keep the speed reasonable.

The MTB version looks very interesting indeed.......
