^ given the temps the descent to charlesworth on that route would be lethal at the mo imo - there was a lot of water running down the steepest bit a couple weeks back... Lovely any other time though.

You may get a lower risk (but flatter, and no doubt still icy in places) ride out towards Tatton Park via Hale etc
For info my club (tri) ride leaders are discussing sacking off road rides when icy and going mtb'ing instead. I think this is a good idea.
