It's a well known solution, for the front, to just chop the guard down if it won't squeeze between the brake calipers. You cut just beyond the bracket that hangs off the brakebolt, and can even mount it behind the fork if the brake bolt isn't the recessed type. As for the rear, I would try just chopping parts of the guard out, rather than into two pieces, so you just have a narrow section around the bridge area, and fashion a modification/alternative to the bridge hanger thing.
