  • I concur, had damp in my last flat and it was also a ground floor flat, carpets and double glazing but damp was getting in through the walls some how, ruined a perfectly good chair (flat mate probable shouldn't of left it against the wall, especially considering he spotted the damp in the first place) Land lord sorted us out with a dehumidifier and everyone was much happier, especially through the winter, place was cold enough as it was without having a shit load of damp to contend with.

    Sister had a similar problem in her flat as well and got a dehumidifier, industrial or not, it's up to you.

    Didn't anything come up in the survey (which I'm assuming you got when you were considering the house/flat) to suggest damp and the causes of damp?
