I still think that the 7800 DA with the exposed gear cable is the crispest rear shift, and remains so over time. The hidden cable run is a step back IMHO. 7800 gives the second most idiot-proof shifting (taking into account the 2 paddle system AND shift performance) under pressure (not relevant here I know- few of us ride a road bike in anger). Most idiot proof under pressure would be the Di2 I think. My 2p.
