you do realise that you can have mates who disagree with you…
I, for one, think you either wittingly or unwittingly put yourself in positions that have potential to cause you harm and to some degree I'm surprised this hasn't happened to you sooner [I don't condone his behaviour or gain any kind of self satisfaction in the incident] but it does show a massive lack of awareness to presume that some nutter isn't going to escalate your confrontations to a level you can't handle
Very glad he wasn't tooled up and you are still relatively intact
