  • Well, I am operating on the assumption that having some form of army/navy/body of people whose job it is to maintain sovereignty is a handy thing to have.

It would be rather churlish not to support them if one believes them to be needed?

You assume (wrongly) that everyone shares your view that our sovereignty is something to be cherished and maintained.

In what way are our forces in Iraq or Afghanistan protecting our sovereignty?

^This, but that's somewhat beside the point.

It seems you are entirely correct. Lucky those that do go and fight don't differentiate over on whose behalf it's worth risking their lives.

Keyboard warriors v the real ones I guess.

What percentage of those that do go and fight do so on anyones behalf? What percentage of them sign up to protect queen and country? What percentage of them sign up to maintain our sovereignty?
And how do those percentages compare to the number that sign up for the pay cheque, those that signed up so they could goto foreign countries and shoot people, those that sign up because they dropped out of NQ bricklaying and realised that they couldn't buy subaru imprezas and g star denim on the dole?
