Getting out of phone contract

Don't these organisations help to bolster the appearance of public support for the war?
Don't they also help subsidise the government's defence budget, distorting the true cost of overseas operations?
I'm not entirely sure myself (just playing Devils Advocate) but this is an example of why I don't think "support" for the troops and support for the war can ever be totally seperate.

Charity organisations raising money to reattach limbs aren't really making me want to join the 'war effort'.. you might get your kicks differently.

As for funding, I have no idea. I can barely get my own pay sorted.
