Well, I am operating on the assumption that having some form of army/navy/body of people whose job it is to maintain sovereignty is a handy thing to have.
It would be rather churlish not to support them if one believes them to be needed?
There are lots of jobs that need to be done - so, by your logic, we should support everyone who does a job that needs doing. I'm just curious about why there is a current vogue for special support for soldiers who are doing the job they signed up for.
