Got back from France yesterday, had come back over night and needed to stop at every service station from Montelimar to Calais as I had severe d&v accompanied by fever, dizziness and aversion to bright light.
Once home I contacted NHS direct who told me to go to hospital. I think their diagnosis of food poisoning was probably correct, symptoms stabilised over night and have lessened over the course of the day.
Dancing Jane has just sent me a link to a breaking news story about Dengue fever in the south of France. Thankfully no blood in faeces or vomitting, no rash and skin was not cold and clammy, so with a 50/50 hit rate on the symptoms I am hoping its just common or garden food poisoning!
