Lorry driver sounds like a proper dick. That makes a change.
From what you've said above I don't see how he can prove that you made the dent, innocent until proven guilty and all that. Don't pay anything, as soon as you start putting up a fight, more than likely they'll see it's too much hassle and drop it.
