So I'm rebuilding a bike with 5 speed 27" wheels and, as with every hub I ever re-build, the cones and cups are not in perfect nick so the wheels are not very smooth (early shimano 5 speed wide flange). What I really want are system ex style, large flange, cheap and functional cartridge bearing hubs and sling a 5 speed on. Rear dropouts are spaced at 120mm. Anyone tried a bodge like this? I know this is an odd post for a fixed gear forum! Advice/ experience appreciated,
