What a load of bollocks!
Do you really believe all that?
You have no idea what gear he was in on either bike.
You have no idea of how their weight and specs compare.
The 26" bike is his own race bike so he's completely used to it.
He'd also just ridden it once with fresh legs on the 26er before riding the bigger wheels.

I'll stick with my own experience of riding both types of bikes for years thanks. :]
