What the fuck is this idea that spending more than £500 is somehow wrong or greedy?
I ordered an £850 Brompton because I needed a folder and it's the best one you can get. That order also provides income to a British company and employment to bike builders in London, including members of this very forum, instead of some massive factory of exploited workers in China. So from an economic and an environmental point of view it's a better purchase as well. I did not want to buy a second-hand one because there is too high a risk it will have been stolen, and the bike to work scheme allowed me to justify spending the extra for a new one instead. What's wrong with that?
