General views on the internet is it's a great bike for the money. I'm going to replace the bits when they wear out but at the moment I'm really not fussed about upgrading it, I'm more than happy with it.
I've probably done 500+ miles on mine in the time that I've had it (3 months) and all I've changed is the saddle and removed the mud guards (nice weather) but I think I'll stick them back on when touring.
Also get yourself some nice pannier bags as well. They might seem expensive but really are worth it in the long run, mine can hold 55 litres of touring goodness, with the tent and sleeping bag on the rack I can't see why I'd need front panniers.
