I'm a bit confuzzled. How much of the £1000 cycle scheme thing are you willing to blow? Blowing the whole £1000 means you pay off about £600ish over the year. Anyhoo, what Ed said. I hear Kona Sutras are pretty damn good.
Yeah that looks awesome. I read that tighter geometry = less long term comfort though, but as the other half pointed out, riding for 5 hours every day, even an arm chair wouldn't be comfortable after a while.
I need to spend as little as possible as I want to tour for as long as possible before emigrating to Oz, so I'm thinking spending £500 on a bike, 2 rear panniers, lock, helmet (apparently) and perhaps a cheeky saddle upgrade to a Brooks. Which puts the sutra out sadly.
