  • I can't see how any of these new rules improve the game in anyway (although I haven't seen a game being played with them so my opinion may be somewhat invalid), from reading them I can just see more confusion and ambiguity being added to the game.

    Because we don't have a free kick/whistle blows then game stops system (like football) once a foul has been committed, noted by the ref, called by the ref, ref then tries to alert the offending player, ref tells the player their punishment blah blah blah so much time has elapsed that a thousand different scenarios could have played out.

    I think with the fluid/continuous play style we have rules need to be kept to a minimum so it makes it easier for players to not commit offences making the ref's input to the game as minimal as possible. With more and more rules getting added it's going be nearly impossible to keep yourself in check and no matter how honest you are as a player I believe you'll commit many fouls unintentionally. If such a large number of fouls are being committed then surely a whistle blow then stop system will have to be implemented for the rules to be effective.
