What's the best stuff to clear coat with?

any clear laquer you put on to bare metal will chip and peel off very easily...
this isnt true. My frame is clear lacquered and it does not chip and peel. There are a few scratches on my forks and drop outs and you cant hardly see them. They look like a paint scratch. There is no rust because i keep my bike clean and dry it after a wet ride. If i was really bothered i would clear lac them up. As it is a polo bike im probaby thinking hes not that fussed about it enough to pay for what is mentioned above. So clear lacquer will do!
