The wheel was already converted to single-speed, so no cassette to remove.
The spacers and the SS spocket are held by a small sprocket screwed onto the end of the cassette body. For unscrewing two old kitchen towels did the job, wrapped around the SS sprocket and the screw-on sprocket.
