I ran 47s on my open pros when i had them on my Scissor, over inflated them too and never had any problems.
I looked into the whole max recommended width thing when i was building the Scissor and what i noticed was that the Open Pro is 15mm wide (internally) and they say don't fit a tyre over 28mm wide but their mtb rims which are like 17mm wide (internally) are ok with tyres upto 2.3 inches or 58.42mm wide. There's no notes about pressures or tyre brands etc so it seemed a bit rediculous to me that a difference of 2mm in rim width could make a difference of 30mm in max tyre width.
2mm is less than 10% of 15mm but makes more than 100% difference to max tyre width?
