Alright I need some advice about upgrading the 90's 8 speed Chorus groupset on my geared bicycle.
I have three choice basically (in order of cost), one is to change the downtube fiction shifter to an indexed one, the other is to replace the brake levers and the downtube shifter for an ergoshifter, and the last option is something I'd very much like to do; upgrade the whole groupset to a modern 10 speed Centaur.
Will the gear shifting on the existing Chorus groupset be more precise and smoother with an indexed shifter be it's downtube or ergoshifter? and I mean as smooth and precise as a modern 10 speed Centaur? (and I have ridden a bike with the 2009 Centaur groupset and it's a Godsent compare to an old Chorus).
